SERVICES AND PRICING
Standard Tuning - $200
Keep your piano sounding fresh and properly maintained with a standard tuning every 6 months to 1 year. This service is best for pianos that are part of a regular tuning regimen. Same price applies to Grands, Uprights, Consoles and Spinets. If it has been 2+ years since your piano has been tuned, it has recently been moved, or gone through extreme temperature and humidity changes, then it will most likely need a pitch raise (see below).
Tuning Time: 1 Hour
Tuning with Pitch Raise - $300
If your piano has not been tuned in 2+ years, has recently moved, has been stored non-optimally, and is incredibly out of tune, it may need what is called a "pitch raise". Because of how much tension is on these strings, as I tighten one side of the piano the other side will loosen and go out of tune. During the pitch raise, each string is over-tuned so that by the time the first pass is complete they will have lowered to an acceptable pitch and will be ready for a standard tuning. This can take up to additional 1 Hour. In some extreme cases more than one pitch raise may be necessary.
Tuning Time: 2 Hrs
Basic Repairs - $100/hr
Are some of your keys sticking or not working properly? Is something not sounding right? Something not feeling right? The action of a piano is incredibly complex, and there are a myriad of things that can go wrong within each note. A repair visit is $100 for up to 1 hr, and $100 each additional hour. Cost of parts are additional.
Time: 30 min - 1 Hour
Piano Evaluation - $150
Full piano evaluation and inspection. Great if you are considering purchasing, selling, or restoring a piano. I will take apart the piano and inspect the condition of the soundboard, felts, action, hammers, strings, pin block, pedals, bridges, amongst other checkpoints. NOTE: This is not a piano appraisal. This is merely an analysis on the overall condition of the piano.
