Hi, I’m Kevin King, Award-Winning Piano Tuner
I’m a former engineer (Penn State) who traded the corporate world for my true passion—bringing pianos to life. In 2011, I trained in Los Angeles under Deke Erdmann, the former piano tuner for the LA Philharmonic Orchestra, gaining a deep respect for the craft and an ear for perfection. That experience ignited my love for pianos and the intricate art of tuning.
As a classically trained pianist and violinist—and guitarist on both electric and acoustic—I understand music from both a performer’s and a technician’s perspective. I’m proud to serve as the official piano tuner for the Tempe Elementary School District, and I regularly tune for churches, concert halls, and venues across the Valley.
Whether I’m preparing a Steinway grand for the concert stage or fine-tuning a cherished family upright at home, I bring the same precision, care, and musical sensitivity to every instrument I touch. My goal is simple: to make your piano sound its absolute best—so every note sings.

Kevin tuned my piano yesterday for the first time. His excellent communication with me from the onset of setting the appointment to completing the tuning is nothing short of excellent. He provided reminders and confirmation leading up to the date and even hours and minutes until the scheduled time. He was professional and careful with our piano and did a remarkable job. His rate is very fair as well. I will definitely schedule with him again. I highly recommend him!

Yesterday, Kevin arrived promptly at the given appointment time and offered to take his shoes off as he recognized our new carpet. This was a great start to his attentive, high quality service he gave to our baby grand. Kevin took his time tuning, playing and rechecking the piano sound by playing every key multiple ways. He even made a thoughtful adjustment to one of my keys that had been sticking for over a year, problem solved!! What a friendly and thorough tuning service - I will absolutely be a return customer.

Kevin arrived right on time. He was polite and professional. I essentially inherited a very old piano and I contacted him to tune it. After much discussion, and his advice. I held off for a bit. I believe he was honest with me. This is a rare trait in today’s day and age. I’m electing on getting a new style piano, one that isn’t 120 years old. I will call him to tune that and I referred him to a friend of mine that has a baby grand that needs tuning. Excellent service Kevin. I greatly appreciate your advice. Highly recommend.
