Hi, I’m Kevin King, Award-Winning Piano Tuner
I’m a former engineer (Penn State) who traded the corporate world for my true passion—bringing pianos to life. In 2011, I trained in Los Angeles under Deke Erdmann, the former piano tuner for the LA Philharmonic Orchestra, gaining a deep respect for the craft and an ear for perfection. That experience ignited my love for pianos and the intricate art of tuning.
As a classically trained pianist and violinist—and guitarist on both electric and acoustic—I understand music from both a performer’s and a technician’s perspective. I’m proud to serve as the official piano tuner for the Tempe Elementary School District, and I regularly tune for churches, concert halls, and venues across the Valley.
Whether I’m preparing a Steinway grand for the concert stage or fine-tuning a cherished family upright at home, I bring the same precision, care, and musical sensitivity to every instrument I touch. My goal is simple: to make your piano sound its absolute best—so every note sings.

Had Kevin over yesterday to do a tuning and pitch raise along with a standard cleaning. It had been four years since my last tuning so it needed to be pitch raised and a very glad I did. I don’t play the piano, but my wife does and she was very appreciative that we finally got it tuned. I love piano music and Kevin did an awesome job And as an extra bonus, he also plays any plays very very well. Overall, he was here for about 3 1/2 hours in concentrated on getting the perfect pitch. From now on, I’m going to have him out every year to make sure we keep up with it.he said our Weber baby grand was in great shape and thought it was much newer than it was. My wife is hoping she can get the grandkids interested in taking some lessons. Thank you, Kevin. See you in about 359 days.

July 2, 2024My piano was difficult to tune as it had shifted to being very sharp. Kevin stuck with it until it was fixed. It sounds beautiful now. I will definitely be using Kevin to tune my piano in the future.

Kevin was great! My husband and I moved into a house that had room for my mom's piano. She hadn't had it tuned since about 2000! He was able to fix a stuck key, re-attach the piano stand, and get our piano in tune in less than 2 hours. The fact that he also plays beautifully while working was a bonus. We will absolutely use him again!

Yesterday, Kevin arrived promptly at the given appointment time and offered to take his shoes off as he recognized our new carpet. This was a great start to his attentive, high quality service he gave to our baby grand. Kevin took his time tuning, playing and rechecking the piano sound by playing every key multiple ways. He even made a thoughtful adjustment to one of my keys that had been sticking for over a year, problem solved!! What a friendly and thorough tuning service - I will absolutely be a return customer.

He goes back to tweak a bit if it doesn't sound right to him - just a superb job. We chitchat a bit as he sets up and as he puts his tools away. May 2, 2024Kevin tuned my beautiful grand piano yesterday, for the 2nd time in two years. Playing my piano after Kevin tunes it, is like driving a brand new car...it's just a fantastic experience. I booked the appointment 3 weeks ago online, and got a reminder of our appointment a few days ahead of time. He arrived right on time, did an EXPERT tuning and I couldn't be happier. I have recommended him to others and every single person has been thrilled. He is priced a little higher than others, but he is worth every bit. You get what you pay for, and if you want the very best in the business, you pay for it. I will use Kevin as my official tuner and continue to recommend him. As a professional pianist, I only want the best for my piano and I have that with Kevin. I won't use anyone else when it comes to tuning/servicing my piano. It's PERFECT when he finishes the job.
